5 Things to Do Before Your Ski Season

There's always a lot to prepare before a new ski season. Tick off Skiworld's Top 5 to-do list so you're prepared for a new season of seasonnaire life this winter.

Get Your Kit Together

• Its worth getting the best quality kit especially when it comes to your jacket as you will be wearing it a lot over the 5 months!
• It doesn’t necessarily mean spending £100’s on brand new stuff; ask your family and friends for hand me downs, make the most of your Skiworld discounts, and remember you will be away over Christmas!? Surely a few early presents are called for?

Get Your Ski Legs and Get Fit

Find your nearest dry ski slope or indoor snow dome and hit the gym

• Okay we know it’s not as good as the real thing but it’s a never a bad idea to have a preseason warm up. If you are first time skier or boarder then get yourself a lesson booked in!

The Boring (but Important) Stuff

Banking, phone contracts, health

• Let your bank know you will be living abroad for 5 months… there’s nothing worse than your first day off being ruined by a blocked bank card! Whilst you’re at  it check the rates you will be charged abroad- you may be better off looking at an alternative travel card to use during the season https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/prepaid-travel-cards
• -    Find out from your phone provider if you can alter your contract to get better rates abroad. If not lots of people take an old phone on season and buy a foreign SIM in resort- taking it back to the old school… pay-as-you-go! You will quickly realise how far 3GB of data actually goes when you’re limited on the Wi-Fi front!
• -    Now is the perfect time to get any of those niggles dealt with – dentist, doctor, opticians whatever it may be we can assure you it will be a damn sight cheaper to sort before heading to the mountains and who wants to waste  valuable ski time!?

Get Connected

• Download a ski app to track your progress, distances, top speed etc over the season… ***Warning it will get competitive***
• Fill up a laptop or hard drive with films and TV seasons (essential) you may think you will be on the mountain, working or partying for the most part (which is a fair assumption) - however after a transfer day you will welcome an early night and a couple of films with open arms – trust us!
• Start chatting to your fellow seasonnaires on social channels and join your resort Whatsapp group

Round up the Troops
