These lower-cost ski holidays offer superb accommodations in some of the biggest and most well-known resorts in Europe, Canada and the USA.

Why You Should Choose a Budget Ski Holiday with Skiworld

We use some key criteria to define our budget ski holidays, differentiate them from "cheap" holidays (which we simply don't like!), and ensure you get maximum value for money.

  1. Lower-priced accommodation in relation to what else is available in the same resort
  2. A price with overall good value that doesn't compromise on location in resort
  3. Properties located in the highest and most snow-sure resorts in Europe, USA and Canada with long winter seasons and superb snowfall records.
  4. 3 or 4 star properties that also offer value-adding extras such as wellness facilities, inclusive dining, ski-in/ski-out access and more
  5. Accommodations or holidays where Early Booking Offers apply, rewarding you with money off or upgrades simply for booking early
  6. As standard, Skiworld holidays include flights & shared transfers which include a 23kg hold luggage allowance - great for your budget! You can also book self-drive or accommodation only to bring down the initial cost, but bear in mind the additional expenses and admin of arranging the extra bits yourself!

Accommodation Options

Choose from catered chalets, hotels, self-catered apartments and independent chalets, each offering a different accommodation experience. Here's how we'd define each one in a nutshell:

Catered Chalets

Because you get six days of breakfast, afternoon tea and 3 or 4 course evening meals, our chalets represent truly amazing value. Don't forget that wine is also included throughout dinner every night! You can choose to book a whole property for groups of between 6 and 21 people, or book room-by-room in some chalets, for the quintessential and sociable shared ski chalet experience.

Self-Catered Apartments

With a huge range of standards, locations and facilities, self-catered apartments offer the best choice if you want to really find THE best accommodation for you. Most have kitchenettes so you can prepare your own food and multiple bed configurations to suit varied group sizes. Explore Budget Ski Apartments >>

Ski Hotels

If you like the service and facilities that a hotel offers, you'll find a ski hotel is no different. There are often not as many hotels in some resorts, but others have plenty to choose from. Most are on a B&B basis, but there are usually half or full-board upgrades that you can pay for if you want your dining taken care of. Explore Budget Ski Hotels >>

Independent Chalets

Similar properties to our catered chalets but sold on an 'independent' basis, which means you have sole-use of the property for the week. Although essentially a self-catered holiday, you can opt for meal delivery packages and being in our chalet resorts means you'll have the benefit of our in-resort team should you need any assistance whilst on holiday.

Budget Ski Holiday Considerations

Try Self-Drive

Self-drive packages offer unparalleled freedom and flexibility to explore resorts at your own pace, all while enjoying potentially significant cost savings and the convenience of transporting your own ski equipment. Not to mention the added benefit of plotting your own scenic routes and customising your travel schedules.

Stay Snow-Sure

All our catered chalet resorts are 'snow sure' and the vast majority of the others we operate in have very reliable snow. Choosing a snow-sure ski resort ensures optimal skiing and snowboarding experiences without worrying about inadequate snowfall. Additionally, snow-sure resorts offer peace of mind and increased certainty for planning your winter holiday, minimising the risk of disappointment due to insufficient snow that you might experience in other resorts.

Choose a Package

Our selection of budget ski holidays aren't the cheapest, but we believe that a ski holiday is an experience to savour, not endure. We choose the best resorts and accommodations, then package holidays with flights (inc hold luggage) and transfers to minimise the admin and maximise the value for you.

How to Get the Best Budget Ski Holidays

Some aspects to look out for that will help you get the ski holiday you deserve for less:

  • Keep an eye out for sales - As the ski season approaches, you'll find lots of early booking offers that will help save you money. To find the best-value ski holidays keep an eye out for  big offers, such as Black Friday, the January Sale and Last Minute Ski Deals.
  • Try a self-drive ski holiday - Self-drive ski holidays include travelling to the ski resort by car, instead of flying. As a result, you can sometimes find incredibly good value deals where you'll get seven nights' accommodation and Le Shuttle crossing - ideal for small groups or families.
  • Travel in a group - Generally, prices are lower when you book a group ski holiday. This is because you can book the entire accommodation and often receive better rates as a result. Depending on your group size you may even be able to get group discounts. Especially good for catered chalet holidays.
  • Consider self-catered ski apartments - Another way to go on a low-cost ski holiday is to stay in a self-catered ski apartment. You can then head to the local supermarket where you can get your food and drinks for the week and keep to your own budget.
  • Travel outside of peak dates - Christmas, New Year, Half Term and Easter will be the most expensive, as this is when the kids are off school and naturally flights and holidays increase in cost. To avoid these higher prices, try and travel outside of these dates, such as January, early February or the end of the season.
  • Consider less 'big-name' resorts - Some resorts are less expensive than others such as Les Deux Alpes and Alpe D'Huez. However, if you find one of our current deals you may still get a great price allowing you to visit typically more expensive resorts like Val d'Isère or St Anton on a lower budget.
  • Lock in your price by booking early - The benefit of locking in the price for all your lift passes and ski hire is often overlooked. When you lock in your holiday early you can be assured that the price of your holiday will not change even if the exchange rate fluctuates unfavourably nearer your departure date.
  • Sign up to the Skiworld Offers Alert to get first dibs - The Skiworld Offers Alert allows you to be one of the first to hear of any new deals we have throughout the year. You may even get to hear about deals before they're on our website, allowing you to grab the best prices before anyone else.
  • Be flexible on dates - The more flexible you are on dates, the easier it will be for you to grab a good-value holiday, especially when comparing several different holidays. Being flexible also makes it easier to book a last minute ski holiday
  • Go all-inclusive/Ski-All-In - Ski-All-In deals include your lift pass, ski hire (or carriage), as well as accommodation, flights, and transfers. You'll make a saving for booking this in advance and the price will be locked in  so can't go up before your holiday
  • Ask for a price-match - We offer a ski holiday price match promise on our apartments and hotels meaning that if you find the same holiday package on a different site, then we'll match it. This is applicable in any of our European, USA and Canadian resorts.
