Ski Season Jobs

Ski Season Jobs, Winter 2024/25

What is a Ski Season?

A ski season with Skiworld is more than just a job - it’s an adventure packed with powder days, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable moments. From the buzz of pre-season training to the first snowfall that transforms the mountains into your workplace, every day brings a new challenge and reward.

You’ll master the art of delivering top-tier service, squeezing in loads of skiing between shifts and making the most of days off each week. Whether you're perfecting a chalet dinner service, managing a busy team of hosts, or keeping the après spirit alive, you’ll be at the heart of an incredible winter experience. And as the season flies by, you’ll leave with stories to tell, skills to take forward, and a deep-rooted love for mountain life.

Skiworld understand that skiing and snowboarding is usually the driving force behind people doing a ski season no matter which job you choose, so our philosophy is work hard, play hard and ski even harder.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ski Seasons

1. Can I apply to work overseas as a UK passport holder?

Yes! If you hold a UK passport, you can apply for a role with Skiworld. You’ll need a work permit and visa, but as long as you meet the requirements, we’ll guide you through the application process.

2. What are the job requirements?

We’re looking for people who are customer-focused, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and have a strong work ethic. Each role has different experience requirements, so check the job-specific pages for more details.

3. When does my contract start and finish?

Start dates vary by resort. If you're applying for a management role, you’ll typically arrive mid-November. Training for all other staff begins from late November to early December.

The season usually runs until mid-to-late April, but this may vary depending on the role.

4. What training will I receive?

We provide pre-season online training as well as two weeks of in-resort training with your team. This is a great chance to learn the ropes and bond with your colleagues before guests arrive.

5. Do I have to work the full season?

We primarily recruit for the full season, but there are sometimes opportunities to join later. If you can’t start straight away, you can be placed on our reserve list, depending on availability.

6. Can I choose which resort I work in?

The earlier you apply, the better your chances of getting your preferred location. We’ll take your preferences into account, but placements depend on availability and the needs of each resort. Our recruitment team works hard to build strong communities to make your season unforgettable.

7. Can my partner or friend apply too?

Yes! Many chalets require more than one person, so couples and friends can apply together. You can also apply for different roles in the same resort. Just mention each other in your cover letters and submit your CVs.

8. When can I apply for the next ski season?

Applications open in Spring each year. Our peak recruitment period is May to August, but we continue hiring until all positions are filled. Check our website’s recruitment page for available roles and apply early!

9. What is the interview process like?

The process has two stages. First, there’s a 20-minute phone interview. If successful, you’ll move to the second stage, which will be either an online or in-person interview at our London office. The second stage lasts about 90 minutes.

We aim to contact all applicants within a week after their interview, either by phone or email.

10. How much free time will I get during the season?

Skiworld is run by skiers, for skiers, so we make sure you get time to hit the slopes! You’ll have two days off per week and free time between shifts, meaning you’ll usually get to ski every day except transfer days.

11. What resorts could I work in?

We operate in 10 resorts: - Austria: St Anton - France: Alpe d’Huez, Courchevel, La Plagne, Les Deux Alpes, Les Arcs, Méribel, Tignes, Val d’Isère, Val Thorens

12. What’s included in my employee package?

We offer a competitive package, which varies by role. Elements include: a competitive monthly salary, contribution to travel costs, uniform, in-resort training and access to discounted ski hire.

Full details will be provided when you receive a job offer.
