Holiday Information - Lift Pass, Ski Hire & Ski School

Lift Passes

Can I pre-book lift passes?

Yes. Please call us and we will be able to quote for the latest lift pass prices and add them to your group booking. More details including prices for most resorts and dates can be found on the Ski Essentials page.

Why should I pre-book my lift passes? - Europe

Pre-purchasing your lift pass can save you time and money, especially when you buy one of our Ski-All-In offers. With our pre purchased passes, once you arrive in resort we will either deliver your pre purchased pass to you or meet you somewhere convenient (guests staying in chalets) or ensure that with a booking number provided on your itinerary you can simply arrive at the lift pass office and collect your passes meaning you can get on the slopes quicker. To see what areas are covered by the different passes available in resort read the information on our resort pages here or call one of our ski specialists for advice. Many resorts offer family passes and most resort offer discounted passes for people 65+.

Ski Hire

Do you offer ski hire? - Europe

You can save £££ on ski hire with our Ski-All-In discounts when you book your ski hire online in advance. Be sure of getting exactly what you need to make the most of the skiing on offer and many shops will allow changes of skis when conditions change (usually the Intermediate or Advanced levels). Once you have paid your final balance and provided all your API. Just look out for the booking reference for your ski hire on your itinerary and download the PDF (from My Skiworld) with details of the shop where you skis will be waiting.

Can I book my groups ski hire with you?

Yes. You can add this when you book your holiday online. Otherwise after you've booked just give us a call and we can add any ski packs to your booking for you. For more information please see our Ski Packs page.

What is children's equipment?

Children’s skis, boots and helmets: Children’s prices usually apply to children up to 1.5m in height with shoe size up to 36. Where we specify a child’s age for equipment, this applies as long as the child’s height and size of shoe do not exceed these specifications. We strongly recommend helmets for children.

What is the luggage allowance and can I take my own equipment?

The majority of our charter flights allow 1 main bag and 1 boot bag to be checked into the hold providing the combined weight limit does not exceed 20kgs. You are then allowed 1 piece of hand luggage as per the airports current restrictions.

Skis or boards can be taken on our charter flights starting from approx £39 each when pre paid. We recommend booking this in advance as there is no guarantee of availability once you get to the airport. More information can be found in the Transport section of our Holiday FAQs.

Ski Lessons

What are ski lessons?

The number of hours of lessons varies from resort to resort and this information is displayed on our website. The running of group lessons often depends on minimum numbers so the availability of lessons cannot be guaranteed and this is particularly the case in low season.

Please note that some ski schools limit their hours over peak (usually school) holiday dates and may also close on Sundays. They may also close for one or two days over the Christmas and New Year period. During peak dates such as Christmas, New Year, half term and even Easter, ski schools become fully booked. We therefore strongly advise that you book your lessons in advance on these dates.

There may be other nationalities in your group lessons.

The minimum age for learning to ski depends on the ski school’s policy, facilities and the child’s ability. Occasionally ski schools recommend that children under 6 learning to ski for the first time join a kindergarten in order to familiarise them in a more controlled environment.

Please note all ski lessons are subject to availability and cannot be added to your booking with 7 working days of your departure dates.

Learn to ski or board packs:
Where these are provided they are strictly for complete beginners only i.e. someone who has never skied or boarded before. Equipment provided is entry level and includes a ski or board, boots and poles for 6 days. If a lift pass is included, this may be a restricted beginner pass. Please note that learn to ski or board packs are non-refundable and no refund will be due for any used item.

What ski lessons do you offer in Europe?

We offer a range of ski school options with the best value usually being the group lessons over 5 or 6 days. You can book ski lessons online or call one of our ski specialists for more information. Once you have paid your final balance and provided all your API, you will be sent your final itinerary which contains details of what you have booked and a link to the My Skiworld section of the website. Here you can download a resort information sheet with the details of the ski school.
