Ski Season Jobs, Winter 2024/25

What is a Ski Season?

A ski season with Skiworld is more than just a job - it’s an adventure packed with powder days, lifelong friendships, and unforgettable moments. From the buzz of pre-season training to the first snowfall that transforms the mountains into your workplace, every day brings a new challenge and reward.

You’ll master the art of delivering top-tier service, squeezing in loads of skiing between shifts and making the most of days off each week. Whether you're perfecting a chalet dinner service, managing a busy team of hosts, or keeping the après spirit alive, you’ll be at the heart of an incredible winter experience. And as the season flies by, you’ll leave with stories to tell, skills to take forward, and a deep-rooted love for mountain life.

Skiworld understand that skiing and snowboarding is usually the driving force behind people doing a ski season no matter which job you choose, so our philosophy is work hard, play hard and ski even harder.

Frequently Asked Questions About Ski Seasons

1. Can I apply to work overseas as a UK passport holder?

Yes, we do accept applicants that hold a UK passport. You will require a work permit and visa, and if you meet the visa requirements, we will support you through the application process.

2. What are your requirements?

We are looking for candidates who are customer-focused, enthusiastic, eager to learn, and possess a strong work ethic. For details on the essential and desirable experience for each position, please refer to the job-specific pages.

3. When will my contract start and finish?

Start dates vary by resort, but generally, the management roles arrive in resort mid-November, and training for all other staff begins from late November to early December.

While end dates may vary, the season typically finishes between mid-late April.

4. What training is provided?

Skiworld provides pre-season online training as well as two weeks of in-resort training with your team. It is a fantastic opportunity to bond with your colleagues before your first guests arrive.

5. Do I need to work the full season?

We primarily recruit for the full season, but we also have a reserve list for individuals who wish to start later, depending on available roles. All staff are expected to work until the end of their contract.

6. Can I choose what resort I work in?

Applying early gives you the best chance of securing your preferred location. We always take your preferences into consideration, however placement depends on availability and the needs of each resort. The recruitment team works hard to build communities in resort to give our staff the best experience.

7. Do you employ couples or friends to work together?

Yes, we welcome applications from couples & friends. Many chalets need more than one person, so couples/friends can apply together or for separate roles in the same resort. Please just mention each other in your cover letter alongside your most recent CV.

8. When can I apply for the following season?

Applications open in Spring of each year and the positions that are available will be posted on our website. You can apply through our recruitment page on our website. Our peak recruitment months are May to August, but interviews will continue until all positions are fully recruited, including our reserves list.

9. What is the interview process?

The interview process consists of two stages. First, there will be a 20-minute telephone interview and if successful, you’ll be invited to the second stage, which will either be online or an in-person interview at our London office. Our second stage will last approximately 90 minutes.

We aim to reach out to all our applicants within a week of your interview, either by phone or email.

10. How much time off will I get during the season?

‘Skiworld is run by skiers, for skiers’ and therefore we are passionate about making sure our staff get time to enjoy the mountains. You’ll have two days off per week and free time between your shifts, generally you'll have time to ski every day except for transfer days.

11. What resorts can I work in?

We have 10 resorts available: St Anton in Austria and our nine French resorts: Alpe d’Huez, Courchevel, La Plagne, Les Deux Alpes, Les Arcs, Meribel, Tignes, Val D’Isere, Val Thorens.

12. What is included in the employee package?

We offer a competitive package which is outlaid in full detail at the job offer stage as there are variances between each job role. Elements include: a competitive monthly salary, contribution to travel costs, uniform, in-resort training and access to discounted ski hire.
