If you’re anything like us, you’ve spent a whole lot of time daydreaming over the past year. These daydreams, both those in our heads and those shared with friends, become more extravagant by the day.
So maybe it is time to turn these elaborate plans into a real-life dream holiday. We certainly all deserve nothing less.

Escape to Whistler

Run us through the dream-
I’d be heading straight to the Four Seasons in Whistler, for 10 days. Getting in the holiday mood would be easy with the free drinks on board our flight, followed by the private transfer along the winding snowy roads to Whistler.
The first day would start after a relaxing sleep in our Canadian super king beds, with a massive buffet served in the grand breakfast room which looks out onto the piste.
After clipping on the skis we would have a couple of heli-ski trips and enjoy the glass-bottom gondola over to whistler Blackcomb (to ski the cruisy Jersey Cream run). Our chair lift seats will be cleared before we sit and we’ll be wished an epic day from every pistey we come across (and being Canada- this actually happens)!
Off the slopes, I would take myself to the Scanidave spa located just out of town. Made up of several hot springs, cold plunge pools, warm hammams and every kind of massage and treatment- pure bliss! I would of course also be making use of the free shuttle service.
The Four Seasons Resort- Whistler
Apres, Apres, Apres in Val d’Isere

Does the dream involve apres then?–
Oh yes. It’s all about making up for lost après time in Val d’Isere – a firm favourite of me and my friends.
We’ll be staying in the Residence Skadi for a week. This luxury self-catering apartment is perfect for my group of close friends. It’s close to town and really accessible by bus. The apartments are huge and we would spread over a couple, giving us loads of space to roam!
The Tignes-Val d’Isere ski area is one of my favourite places to ski and it’s so easy to get around. The infamous Folie is located perfectly to ski home after an afternoon of dancing in the sun on the tables!
Then all there is to do is choose from one of the many great restaurants nearby. First on the list has to be the Grand Cocor for an amazing steak.
Residence Chalet Skadi, Val D’Isere
A Week-Long Lunch in La Thuile

Something to do with food?-
My European holiday of choice would be Italy. The focus would be simple, food (and wine) with the occasional morning of skiing, just to build up the appetite.
The family-run Chalet Eden in La Thuile stands out as a great accommodation option, it is described as having “quiet slopes and quality food” – what more could you need on a ski holiday? I know the friendly atmosphere would make the kids feel at home, and the spa and wellness area is an absolute bonus.
After checking in it would be straight to the important stuff. The Chalet Eden itself has a wonderful restaurant with impeccable service and an inviting wine list – the Le Coq Au Vin organic restaurant serves classic Italian cuisine and specialities of the Aosta Valley.
Once we have eaten and skied all Italy has to offer, we can use our full area lift pass to cruise over into France. The quiet but exciting slopes (and cuisine) of La Rosiere will also be at our disposal.
Chalet Eden, La Thuile
Nothing but the Best in Courchevel

What’s the skiing fantasy?-
A luxurious affair with all my friends and family. When it comes to luxury it doesn’t get much swankier than the Trois S chalets in Courchevel.
We would look to book out one, two or even all three of the exquisite Benjamin, Jacques and Samuel. With each chalet having its own hot tub, there would be no chance of a queue forming. This is ideal because the hot tub would be my new home from home.
Upgrades I hear you say? Yes, please. We’ll take the platinum wine and champagne by the case. For the kids, we’ll take the 5-day pack lunch upgrade, oh, and why not add a beer upgrade – very useful after the Wednesday après.
Of course, the special extras don’t stop at the chalet. Platinum level ski hire will ensure everyone can enjoy their time on the slopes to the max, whether they head to the park, off-piste, or just to La Folie Deuce (you can swap your skis or board daily to suit conditions with platinum hire!). And what good would this be without a full area lift pass? With access to the 600km of slopes in the legendary 3 Valleys.
Did I mention the private transfers? Yes, we’ll take those too, thanks.
Chalet Benjamin, Courchevel
A Fortnight in Aspen

Returning to an old favourite?-
Absolutely. Having lived there for a couple of winters I would say Aspen-Snowmass pips anywhere else I’ve skied in North America. I would certainly love to go back for a holiday – two weeks of course.
I would go for a Business Class flight from Heathrow into Pitkin County airport (5 mins out of town) via Chicago. Upon arrival, I’d give the concierge at the airport a nod and get chauffeured privately by The Little Nell to the hotel at the base of Ajax mountain.
Staying in the lap of luxury in one of the glorious suites at the Little Nell, there is plenty to explore – starting with the extensive wellness facilities. First I’ll probably head to the swimming pool, followed by the hot tub, then the sauna and then maybe a full body massage in the spa.
On the slopes, I would spend the fortnight skiing Ajax, Highlands and Snowmass, shuttled privately to and from on my beckoned call, naturally.
Don’t tell my family, but I think I might even do this trip on my own!
The Little Nell, Aspen
Sublime Samoens

Treat the family to something special?-
I would love to go back to Samoens, having been a couple of years ago. It really impressed me as a resort – having not heard much about it before going. I’m so glad I took a chance on it, and I’d definitely love to go back and really make the most of what’s on offer whilst teaching the kids (now a little older) to ski and snowboard on the perfectly groomed slopes. It’s only an hour drive from Geneva airport and the village is pedestrianised – both making life easier for me as a parent.
The residence Alexane has an amazing location close to the village and just 600m from the lifts (plus a free shuttle bus if you find it easier with skis, poles, kids etc!). There’s a stunning swimming pool, plus a kid’s pool too, which are must-haves for a ski holiday, in my opinion, It would be my top pick for sure, and even though it’s a self-catering residence, the Alexane also has a spa, sauna, steam room and hot tub. There’s even a restaurant on-site so I could have a couple of nights off cooking, and a bar for when I need a night-cap!
